Since the early days of North Sea oil and gas production, Johnson Controls have been working in close partnership with key members of the offshore oil and gas industry to install fire and safety control systems technology on both oil and gas platforms and Floating Production Storage Offloader (FPSO) vessels.

Today, our company’s expertise and experience in the oil and gas/marine industry is unparalleled and we remain at the forefront of this highly specialised area. Our track record in protecting FPSO ships for a wide range of offshore operators speaks for itself.

Johnson Controls was awarded the contract to provide fire and safety systems for the FPSO vessel “North Sea Producer” by the vessel’s operator, Odebrecht SLP and Maersk. The vessel is currently located in the Conoco Phillips Macculloch field.

We supplied and commissioned a combined Fire and Gas, and Emergency Shut Down system utilising Triconex-based equipment with stand-alone mimics and an addressable fire detection and alarm system that interfaced with a Fisher Rosemount DCS system for display, monitoring and override/inhibit operation.
