Hounslow Council achieve a 50% reduction in public building carbon emissions
Johnson Controls' specialist energy reduction and zero-carbon infrastructure team has helped Hounslow Council successfully achieve a 50% reduction in energy costs. To date, Hounslow has saved over 17 million kWh per energy across its corporate and school sites, equating to over 3,000 tonnes of carbon.

Consult
Johnson Controls' Asset+ team has built up a strong record of delivering strategic planning and commercial advice to low carbon technology suppliers, contractors, investment companies and government bodies. Providing services to lead or assist in the opportunity origination and the initial technology and solution selection analysis.
Develop
We work closely with our customers to understand the business operations and needs whilst carrying out an initial technical analysis. The aim of this review is to identify opportunities that can offer guaranteed energy savings and are cash positive from day one. Detailed modelling is undertaken to develop an Investment Grade Report for the property, estate or portfolio which provides a robust business case for investment.
Implement
Once a scope of works has been agreed with agreed energy saving and payback targets, Asset+ work with construction and FM partners to manage all installation activities in accordance with strict health and safety protocols. Our project management team will work closely with you to eliminate or minimise any disruption to your operational activities and will programme all activities in agreement with you from commencement of the works to asset hand back at the end of the contract term.
Measure and Optimise
Once all works are complete we will undertake regular analysis of the energy savings being achieved with a comparison to that guaranteed at the outset. Our measurement team will undertake this in accordance with the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP).
Invest
Whilst the payback from these savings in both carbon and energy costs is usually incredibly attractive it can sometimes leave the client facing a large capital outlay. Depending on the technology deployed and the level of service provision required, our decarbonisation teams can offer funded solutions over different periods, and can highlight potential tax efficiencies within our schemes.
