Ethisphere's annual list of the World's Most Ethical Companies highlights organisations that have demonstrated a commitment to ethics, compliance, and governance

Johnson Controls has been awarded the 2025 World's Most Ethical Companies® recognition by Ethisphere, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices. This recognition marks the 18th time Johnson Controls has been included in this list and makes us one of only five companies that have been included 18 times.

"Doing business with integrity is something Johnson Controls takes seriously, and our employees around the world understand and actively embrace this in order to create winning solutions for our customers," said Mara Murphy, Vice President, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer at Johnson Controls. "We are proud to be a global leader in ethical practices and look forward to continuing to serve our customers with the highest of standards in all we do."

"Values First", the Johnson Controls Code of Ethics, is the cornerstone of the Johnson Controls Ethics & Compliance Program. It creates an integrated approach to ensuring that individual conduct, business operations, and organisational culture conform to the highest standards of integrity. Through leadership, commitment, communication, training, monitoring, and reporting, Johnson Controls has created ways to identify and safely navigate ethics and compliance risks and then conduct business according to our stringent set of values.

The World's Most Ethical Companies assessment is compiled through the implementation of Ethisphere's proprietary Ethics Quotient®, an extensive questionnaire that requires companies to provide over 240 different proof points on practices to support robust ethics and compliance, together with governance, and a culture of ethics that takes environmental and social impacts into account to provide initiatives that support a strong value chain. In 2025, 136 organisations were recognised across 19 countries and 44 industries.

"Congratulations to Johnson Controls for achieving recognition as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies. Behind this honour is a true dedication and a commitment to advancing business integrity. This approach is good for business – employees and other stakeholders value companies that prioritise the kinds of practices we measure with our process," said Erica Salmon Byrne, Ethisphere's Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Chair.
